Printer company Xerox has begun to turn leads generated at Drupa into sales, according to a representative from the business.

Speaking to Print Week, the company's graphic communications president Jeff Jacobson said that 300 pieces of equipment were sold by the organisation at the event, which he said was within its expectations.

"When we looked at 2008, compared to 2012 we were fairly comparable and that’s something we were pleased with because obviously the economy’s changed a lot since then," Mr Jacobson continued.

He went on to say that 14,000 specific request for information were recorded at the event, which he is hoping to turn into extra business.

"We will take every one of those thousands of leads and basically assign them each to a sales person," Mr Jacobson insisted.

News of Xerox's fortunes at Drupa comes after it awarded eMazzanti Technologies gold partner status for managed print services.

eMazzanti Technologies has developed its own eCare Print Portal solution, allowing companies to track their ink cartridge usage.
