I would agree with the comments about this Epson D120 printer i.e. it drinks ink, it’s not any cheaper as you can’t get refills and you have to replace all the cartridges more or less at the same time anyway. It won’t print when one black cartridge is empty which seems pointless. The status monitor doesn’t work reliably and again prevents you from printing even if you switch if off. The only good thing about it is the compact shape for our desk. Brian Carson
Thank you for your continued service. I was despairing with my Epson D120 printer as it drinks so much ink, especially after replacing cartridges. By the time it had gone through its ink charging process, another cartridge needed replacing and I was finding that the print quality became poor, necessitating nozzle head checks and head cleaning, which again used up a lot of ink. This always happened when I had strict deadlines to meet, so I began avoiding using my printer because it was so unreliable. Your sales department, however, sent me a set of cleaning cartridges and now I find that the print quality is much improved with consistent results. I am still monitoring the situation, as I have some further deadlines to meet, but I feel more confident that the cartridges will last longer than they did in the past. L.Goodman
Had my Epson D120 printer some 3 months now. My last printer was canon i560. The Epson wins hands down with one exception is the D120 ink. The Epson D120 gulps down ink and it’s twice the price of the Canon. I would prefer to have taken another canon printer. Val
I would not recommend the Epson D120. You can’t refill the cartridges. It drinks ink. It often says the cartridges are empty when they are not. It won’t print if only one black cartridge is empty. It’s not any cheaper having individual inks as Epson claim. You have to replace four cartridges costing £10 each whereas with my old HP printer I had to replace two cartridges and the cost of refills was about £10 each.I recently bought new Epson d120 printer to replace h p printer, we are very pleased with it and the fact that you can replace one cartridge instead of expensive HP triple ones. We will be ordering replacements from you when required as normal. David Williams
The D120 seems to use ink at an alarming rate even allowing for the fact it is very fast - unfortunately I use two (along with 3 other different Epson models)I have just had a lengthy chat with Epson who have said that if you are printing B & W letters, for instance, colour ink will be used unless you set it to use black ink only (Windows XP)They did not explain why, however, that under all uses of various colours the levels on the status monitor reduce at the same rate even if you print largely in one colour only furthermore if one black cartridge runs out it does not work until it is replaced (what therefore is the point of having twoIn my opinion this printer is ill conceived and does little to enhance Epson’s reputation. I had been so impressed with my old Epson printer that when it finally gave up the ghost, I was happy to replace it with a D120. What a difference! While the stronger colours were impressive, it was the speed that was so noticeable. Colour printing was pretty quick, but printing black text was as quick as my laser printer. It's so easy to use, I am sold on it. Having separate colour cartridges is a big boon. No need to replace all colours if one runs out means it’s more economical to run. While it encourages use of Epson carts, I have been using Internet-Ink Epson D120 replacements and these give as good a result as originals. The machine does sometimes get a bit temperamental when changing carts, making out that the cartridge is empty, but a reboot quickly solves that one. I have nothing but praise for Epson, and will continue to be a happy customer.
