I purchase the Epson DX7400 as a standby and addition to my old Epson colour 880. Cheap to buy, a bit noisy, a bit greedy on ink in supplied cartridges (Epson branded) but not so bad on compatible lamp replacements, Easy to set up and use, reasonable quality on all functions, paper loading fiddly but not a problem. Spend a lot more money and you get what you pay for (sometimes) I would rate it as a 7/10 Robert Green

I’ve has my DX7400 for about six weeks and have used two sets of Epson ink cartridges! I print photos and produce a community newsletter. The reproduction I get with photos is excellent. I need to be able to see accurately what I am producing for the newsletter and this printer does a great job. I can use (printer’s) art paper and get an exact replica of what I am about to have printed. I bought an Epson DX7400. It uses more ink than my car uses petrol. I had DX7400 for some 9 months. Printing acceptable but noisy. Ink used up very quickly and price of ink is excessive and increasing all the time.

This Epson DX7400 printer is not as good as expected, quite hard to load with paper & difficult to print thick card, (not as good as C66 in that respect). The copying is good in black, white and colour. Score out of 10 probably about 5.

I’ve had my DX7400 for about 3 weeks. Have to say it was not my choice nor would it be. Inks are too expensive and this printer eats ink. The only paper choices are Epson, Matte, Photo or Gloss or plain paper. No transparency or specialty facility which I had with my HP. I would not recommend this printer. I have recently bought this printer to replace a RX425 that died, so far so good and offers fast printing. I use compatibles in it and there seems to be no difference in quality to originals. Photo quality is fantastic. Scanner is quick. My only complaint is the noise it makes when it pulls through the paper – a bit loud but other than that would definitely recommend. 9/10

I have recently purchased this all - in - one machine and I am very pleased with the results so far. The one thing I find very annoying is the horrible noise the paper take-up makes. My other printer is an Epson R200 and this is whisper quiet so the noise this one make was a shock. My Epson DX7400 printer is rubbish. I wish I had paid more for a better printer. It is noisy. I can't tell which ink cartridge to replace without switching on the computer.

The Epson DX7400 won't operate if one cartridge is low. It doesn't use up all the ink etc. etc. etc. rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. No easily visible instructions, etc. have had my DX7400 for a few months. Photo quality is poor, even an old Canon produced better prints. It uses ink almost faster than you can put it in. returned to Epson service centre as it almost immediately showed that compatible tanks were empty. When tanks did show empty, there was still plenty of ink in them as could be heard when shaking cartridge. Service centre there was nothing wrong with machine, just don’t use compatibles.
